Coaches Edmondson, Perkins, and Lane
The North Central Varsity Hockey Club has a new head
coach for the 2002-2003 season. Derek Perkins replaces Craig Kollen
who had been coach of the team for the last four seasons.
Coach Perkins brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and skill (as a player and coach) to the North Central program. He competed throughout high school as a member of Team Indiana, which at the time was a AAA Select travel team that faced the best of the Midwest- and beyond.
Next, Coach Perkins played four years at Indiana University. He them played a year for Miami of Ohio's club and served as an assistant coach for that same squad. While continuing graduate studies at Miami of Ohio, Derek was a graduate assistant coach for the University's prestigious NCAA team.
Most recently, Coach Perkins was the Clinic Director at Acceleration of Indiana, where he trained hockey players ranging in skill level from youths to NCAA and professional athletes.
We're excited to have him as our head coach and look forward to a successful year!
